Chapter 3

'WHAT IS THIS?' boomed Mr Peter, as he showed Rick the photos.
'My brothers, what's the big deal?' replied Rick with a smirk, before proceeding to tear the photos up.
'You...you...'
'Me what? So what if you're rich? Does that mean you can interfere with my private life? For all I care...'
'This is too...'
'Shut your big mouth up, old man...'
'I'm your dad!'
'So what?'
The duo quarrelled. Harsh words flew. Finally, Mr Peter said, "You want your freedom? You want to have it your way? FINE!'
'You're so clever, fancy dumping your son away without any cash...'
'You want cash? You'll have it!' replied Mr Peter, taking out his cheque book, 'a million dollars for the useless you! Don't ever come back again!'
Rick grabbed the cheque and walked out of the house, slamming the door, leaving an angered father and a sobbing sister in the house.

Joseph was walking on his way home, where he accidentally bumped into 2 tattooed men. Cursing his luck, he walked away, only to be cornered later by 4 boys, of which Rick was one of them.
'Bump into my brother never say sorry?' said Rick, who was their leader.
'What do you guys want? Rick, you are too much...'
A punch. Blood flowed from his nose.
'You should know what we want, you offended one of us. This is offending all of us. Maybe, if you join us...'
'Never! I don't want to be scums of society like you!'
'Heard what he said? He actually called us scums of society!'
A kick, a punch. More blood.
'Hey guys, stop it!' A voice from somewhere. It was Joash.
'There comes Joash the church mouse!' shouted Rick to his friends.
He watched as Joash took Joseph by the hand. 'Let's go, beware of these gangsters next time.'
'Wait!' Rick chipped in, 'only one of you can go; one must suffer for the other.'

Meanwhile, Rachel tried desperately to get her brother on his handphone. She was afraid for her brother's safety. After trying for a long period of time, she finally got through.
'Sis, something happened!'
'Joseph, slow down. Tell me what happened.''
Joash is in trouble!'
'WHAT!?' exclaimed the shocked sister.
'Joash! You should know him, your both were in the same bible study class...'
'Where are you now?'
'Downstairs!'
The line was suddenly cut off. Rachel was at a loss of what to do.

Meanwhile, trouble had just begun for Joash as he faced Rick and his friends.
