Chapter 9
It was Sunday, and the voice of Rachel pierced the stillness of the air.
'Joseph, time to wake up!' Rachel shouted.
'Sis, it Sunday, I’m supposed to sleep!'
'Go ahead, but don’t blame me if you don’t have the game that you want.'
Joseph grumbled. Stretching himself, he got up and left his bed, getting ready to go to church for the first time.
Rick was detained at the police post for hours. Finally, the officer turned to Rick.
'I need to call your parents.'
'Overseas.'
'Any guardians?'
'My elder sis.'
Rick told the police officer Jeanie’s number.
Ben brought a disc in his hand. It was the game that he had promised Joseph if he turned up in church. He knew that this time, it was a special guest speaker speaking and that he was well-known and well-liked by the youths. He hoped that his effort in bringing Joseph to church would not be in vain. As he boarded the bus to church, he silently prayed.
